Alterist operates as a curated marketplace connecting independent designers with customers across the UK and EU. Designers sell directly to customers and dispatch their own items. Alterist facilitates payment and generates shipping labels on behalf of sellers.
All designers are required to dispatch in-stock items within 2 working days of purchase.
For made-to-order or customised items, production timelines vary depending on the designer. In these cases, you will be contacted by email with a confirmed estimated dispatch date following your order.
Please refer to individual product descriptions for any specific lead times.
Shipping is available within:
United Kingdom
European Union
Orders are shipped using:
Royal Mail
Evri
Standard tracked delivery is provided as default. You will receive a tracking number by email once your order has been dispatched.
If you require alternative shipping arrangements, please contact us prior to placing your order.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on:
Buyer location
Seller location
Parcel size and weight
Shipping fees are not included in product prices unless explicitly stated.
Delivery times vary depending on destination. Please note that delivery timelines are estimates and may vary due to carrier delays, customs processing (for EU shipments), or seasonal demand.
If your tracking shows no movement or your parcel does not arrive within a reasonable timeframe, please contact us at:
info@alterist.com
If a parcel is confirmed as lost in transit, Alterist will investigate with the carrier and resolve the issue accordingly. This may include cancellation and refund where appropriate.
Orders shipped to the EU may be subject to:
Import VAT
Customs duties
Handling fees
These charges are determined by the destination country and are the responsibility of the customer.
For orders over £150, customs duties and VAT may be applied upon arrival.
You may be contacted by the courier to provide additional documentation (e.g. tax ID or proof of purchase). Requirements vary by country and are subject to change.
We recommend reviewing your country’s current import regulations prior to purchase.
Alterist supports responsible consumption and aims to minimise unnecessary returns due to their environmental impact.
We encourage customers to:
Review sizing information carefully
Read product descriptions thoroughly
Contact the designer with any questions prior to purchase
Reducing avoidable returns helps lower associated emissions and supports more sustainable fashion practices.
Each designer on Alterist manages their own return and exchange policy. These details are available on the designer’s profile and/or product listing.
For made-to-order or personalised items, returns may not be accepted unless the item is faulty.
If a designer accepts returns, please confirm the following before sending an item back:
Return address
Return timeframe
Responsibility for return shipping costs
Recommended shipping method
Unless the item is faulty, return shipping costs are typically the responsibility of the customer.
If you receive an item that is:

Please contact the designer directly in the first instance.
If the issue cannot be resolved, email:
info@alterist.com
