These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you”) and We Are Looped Ltd, trading as Alterist ("Alterist", “we”, “us”, or “our”), concerning your access to and use of the www.alterist.com website and any related media form, media channel, mobile website or mobile application (collectively, the “Site”).

The Site provides an online multi-vendor marketplace for the sale of upcycled fashion garments and related products (the “Marketplace Offerings”).

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site following updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Alterist operates as a curated multi-vendor marketplace.
Designers sell products directly to customers.
Designers are the legal sellers of their products.
Alterist facilitates payment processing and organises shipping labels.
Designers ship products directly to customers.
Alterist processes payments on behalf of designers. Refunds, where applicable, are processed by Alterist in accordance with the Buyer Policy.
Alterist is not the manufacturer of the products listed on the Site and does not take ownership of designer inventory.
Unless otherwise indicated, the Site, including all content, branding, graphics, logos, text, photographs, videos, software and functionality (collectively, the “Content”), is owned by or licensed to Alterist and protected under UK and international intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial use only. No Content may be reproduced, distributed, or exploited for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
By using the Site, you represent that:
All information you provide is accurate and current.
You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
You will not use the Site for unlawful purposes.
You will not misuse the platform, including attempting to misrepresent products as upcycled when they are not.
Alterist reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
We aim to display products accurately, including colours, materials and descriptions. However:
Product descriptions are provided by designers.
Minor variations may occur due to screen displays or the nature of upcycled materials.
All products are subject to availability.
As upcycled products are often one-of-a-kind or created from reclaimed materials, variations and signs of prior material life may be present.
We accept payment via:
Visa
Mastercard
Stripe
All payments are processed by Alterist in GBP.
Alterist processes payments on behalf of designers. By placing an order, you authorise Alterist to charge your selected payment method.
We reserve the right to:
Refuse or cancel orders
Correct pricing errors
Limit quantities per customer
Sales tax/VAT is applied where required by UK law.
Returns are governed by our Buyer Policy.
Where applicable:
Refunds are processed by Alterist.
Return shipping costs are covered by Alterist unless otherwise stated.
If an item is faulty or misrepresented, the designer is responsible for remedying the issue.
For made-to-order or bespoke items, return eligibility is determined in accordance with the Buyer Policy.
Shipping terms are governed by our Shipping Policy.
Alterist organises shipping labels, but designers are responsible for dispatching items directly to customers within the timeframe stated in the product listing.
Alterist is not liable for delays caused by third-party carriers.
Designers using the platform must:
Accurately represent products
Confirm that items are genuinely upcycled
Disclose material sourcing truthfully
Comply with UK consumer protection laws
Fulfil orders within stated timeframes
Alterist reserves the right to remove listings or suspend sellers who provide misleading information or breach the Seller Policy.
Users may submit reviews, comments, or content ("Contributions").
By submitting Contributions, you grant Alterist a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and promote such content for marketing and promotional purposes.
You remain the owner of your content.
You may not:
Misrepresent products as upcycled
Engage in fraudulent transactions
Attempt to access restricted areas of the Site
Upload malicious software
Harass or threaten other users
Violation may result in suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
The Site and Marketplace Offerings are provided on an “as available” basis.
Alterist does not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free operation.
While we curate designers carefully, Alterist does not independently verify every product claim and relies on information provided by sellers.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for:
Death or personal injury caused by negligence
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
Any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law
Subject to the above, Alterist shall not be liable for:
Indirect or consequential losses
Loss of profit or revenue
Loss arising from third-party shipping providers
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the relevant order.
Designers agree to indemnify and hold Alterist harmless from claims arising from:
Product defects
Misrepresentation
Breach of consumer law
Intellectual property infringement
Your use of the Site is subject to our Privacy Policy.
The Site is hosted in the United Kingdom, and your data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms or policies.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.
