In a world where the fashion industry's water footprint generates 20% of wastewater, I believe we need to change the way we live, think, and consume. Hifas Studio views the problem of textile waste as a unique opportunity to rethink resource management on both individual and collective levels. By embracing upcycling and handcrafted garments, we present an alternative to fast fashion. Our brand serves as a platform for learning, creating, questioning, and transforming reality, recognizing change as an essential element for adaptation. The name comes from the word "hypha" which is the filament that generates fungal spores. It creates a network that decomposes dead elements, giving rise to new living beings, alluding on one hand to the technique of upcycling. On the other hand, it refers to the goal of forming a creative network where textiles and garments create new scenarios through collaboration with other projects and creators, generating new life and meaning for discarded textile fibers.
